Art Supply Sunday - Metallic Watercolors
How about a new feature where I talk about an art supply I like? I’m sure it will be hated by many for it’s budget destroying properties, but here goes:
I absolutely love the new Loew Cornell Metallic Watercolors for backgrounds. I made the backgrounds for the Cherished Memories fat book covers using them. I also colored the textured background on Little Bird with them. Then, I used up every last drop in the tubes on backgrounds for some new projects I’m working on, went out, bought another set and am in the process of using them up.
Right now, I am using a few drops to make the acrylic backgrounds I am working on pop. Photos don’t do all that lovely metallic shimmer justice, so I just can’t show you how nice they look. I got my watercolors from Michaels craft store for under $5. I couldn’t find this watercolor set in any of the other local craft places, but I’m pretty sure I saw that Dick Blick and Mr. Art carried it.
