Stamping Mad

Artful Monday - Button Charms

by Katelyn on November 5th, 2007

Button charmThese little guys have nothing to do with stamping, but they are what I worked on all weekend, so I thought I’d tell you about them. Once you get the jump ring in the bottom button’s holes, they are really fun and easy to make. I made some that are three and four layers high, but they wouldn’t scan because they were too 3-D. This two layer button charm scanned much more clearly. To make them, simply squash a jump ring about a bit until it fits through the button holes and re-adjust it to look as much like the original circular shape as possible. Glue another button, a bead, or a rhinestone on top of the bottom button. I really like the look of the three and four layer ones. Make several of them and put them on a charm bracelet for a really playful, colorful piece of jewelry. I think I’ll list a few bracelets on Etsy for Christmas.
