Close to My Heart - Making Money with Rubberstamping Series

by Katelyn on November 2nd, 2006

If you aren’t interested in making cards for resale, there is another way to make money with your rubberstamping hobby - Becoming a demonstrator for a rubberstamping/scrapbooking company. Today, I’m featuring Missy Bartholomew, a Close to My Heart consultant.

Q. How and why did you decide to be a consultant for Close to My Heart?

A. Well, my sister also sells Close To My Heart and for a few years she kept bugging me to sell it because I always bought stuff from her. I always thought that I could only ever be a customer because I would never find people to sell to and I hated pushing things on people to buy. Well, after REALLY getting into scrapbooking I thought, hmmmmm, maybe I COULD sell this stuff! Scrapbooking is the one thing I totally love to do anytime I have free time and when asked what my hobbies are….scrapbooking is the only thing that comes to mind! lol!

So I took the plunge, which was only $150 to join CTMH and then I only had to sell $300 worth of product every quarter. It ended up being very easy to do because I only had to have 2 shows in a 3 month period to make my minimum in sales!

Q. What do you enjoy about being a consultant?

A. The thing I like best about being a CTMH independent consultant is teaching workshops and helping those who have never scrapbooked to get started. I always try to teach a certain technique at my workshops so the gals go away with a 2 page layout plus learning a new technique.

Also, since CTMH has gone to acrylic stamps and blocks it is so much easier to teach beginners how to stamp with a lot less mistakes!
