Finding Fibers in the Scrap Bag

by Katelyn on December 7th, 2006

nov-2006-081-medium.jpgI was looking for the perfect fiber to finish off a stamping project. This one was too red. This one didn’t have any red. The brown was kind of…well, brown.

Then, from the corner of my eye, what did I spy? The perfect reddish brown. But it was a scrap of heavy upholstery fabric. Wait. Was it…it was! a big fat thread was unraveling. Just as thick as one of my favorite yarn weights, too. So, I kept unraveling and ended up with that perfect fiber I was looking for. Take a look in your upholstery scrap pile to see if you have any pieces you can unravel for fibers before you decide to discard your scraps. You might be pleasantly surprised, too.
