New Craft Book Round Up

I bought quite a few craft books recently and thought I’d share my views on them for those of you who might be thinking about expanding your collection. Here they are:
* Creole Thrift: Premium Southern Living Without Spending a Mint - I was really disappointed. The cover looked very promising and the book was recommended to me. It ended up being almost an autobiography with very few projects and ideas. I’m not keeping it.
* French-Inspired Jewelry: Creating with Vintage Beads, Buttons & Baubles by Kaari Meng - Definitely worth the money. There were a lot of projects that gave me inspiration. I can alter several ideas to incorporate rubber stamped charms.
* Found Art Mosaics by Suzan Germond - If you want to mosaic anything that stands still, this book will show you that it is absolutely possible. No rubber stamping here, but you could stamp some of the tile pieces to add interest to your work.
* Mixed Media Mosaics: Techniques & Projects Using Polymer Clay Tiles, Beads & Other Embellishments by Laurie Mika - Gorgeous book and a must for mixed media artists considering adding mosaic elements to their art. A plus - many of the projects call for stamping.
* Living the Creative Life: Ideas and Inspiration from Working Artists by Rice Freeman-Zachery - Just plain fun. I enjoyed a peak into the lives of other artists.
* Wide Open: Inspiration & Techniques for Art Journaling on the Edge (Book & Card Kit) by Randi Feuerhelm-Watts - This is a booklet and a set of journal prompts on cards. Not really my style, but I’m sure many journal writers would find it helpful. I may just pull it out if I feel a bit of artists’ block some day.
