New Year, New Skill - Learn Something New Challenge for 2008
It is time for the annual Learn Something New Challenge. How are you planning to stretch your artistic talent this year? What supply has been languishing in your art supply closet? Yes, it is time to stop glancing guiltily away when you see that pile of expensive things you’re going to learn to use someday, because someday is officially arriving today, January 1st, 2008.
In 2008, I am going to learn to solder. I have all the tools and two trained welders in the family. I can do this. I can do this. I can…it looks so dangerous! Quick glimpse through all the art books with soldered projects in them to bolster resolve. Who cares if it is dangerous! I want to make sculptures and jewelry and mend that watering can that broke last year.
