Quick and Easy Christmas Card Layout
I may have mentioned in another blog post that I hate making the same thing over and over, so Christmas cards can be a bit of a challenge, since I need to make so many. It’s not like birthday cards, where you can afford to take the time to come up with a new design for each one because you only need one or two a month. So, I tend to go with three or four quick and easy layouts for Christmas cards and change things up with different background papers, etc. Of course, that means I don’t do assembly line production, so it still takes a long time to put them all together. I’ll make one or two more elaborate ones for my Mom or my Grandmother, but that’s it.
This is a card I sent last year using All Night Media’s Majestic Angel stamp. (I was going to show some of the variations, too, but when I resized them, the photos really got blurry. This was the clearest one. I’ll have to post the others later.)
I stamped the image on plain cardstock and cut it out. I added color to part of the image using colored pencils. Then, I adhered the image to a piece of vellum. I added the layers to a piece of white cardstock, stamped a saying inside and was done. (The saying was a stamp from Wood Cellar Graphics - Jesus is the Reason for the Season.)
By the way, my sister-in-law loved these cards so much that she got me to make 20 Thank You notecards for her with a similar design. Of course, they weren’t identical, but I warned her ahead of time that they wouldn’t be!
