Ribbon Storage

by Katelyn on November 28th, 2006

ribbon_storage (Medium).jpgSince manufactured ribbon storage can cost around $40, I thought you might like to hear about my cheap storage alternative. I made my own ribbon storage boxes using shoeboxes covered in leather look contact paper.

I punched holes for two dowels in each box and then punched 10 holes in each of the long sides and put eyelets in the holes. I put the ribbon rolls on the dowels, slid the dowels into place and threaded the end of each ribbon roll through an eyelet. With the box lid back in place, I had a pretty, dust free ribbon storage container and I could tell which ribbons were in each box by the inch or so of ribbon hanging out from each of the eyelets.

Tip - cut the dowels about 1/2″ longer than the box and they will be less likely to slide out of one of the holes.
