Stamping Away in the Good Old Summertime

This month, the Lifestyles channel has asked us all to create a post about the Good Old Summertime. Well, I think it is a time to relax and soak up sunshine, so I started with a sun stamped behind a piece of screen, framed with yellow ribbon. The shimmery paint on the blue background looks a little weird in the photo. I guess the light from the camera flash caught it funny. Anyway, then I used paint crayons, liquid acrylics and a flower stamp inked with a brown chalk pad to make the woman.

You may be thinking she looks a bit serious to be relaxed. That’s because she hasn’t looked out the window at that bright yellow sun yet. When she does, she’s going to rearrange her schedule so she can go lounge on the hammock and enjoy some downtime with that book she’s been trying to read for the past three months.

I’m thinking the upper left corner still needs something - the word relax maybe - but I wanted a very simple layout, so I may leave it the way it is.
