Stamping Mad

Stamping in Wet Paint

by Katelyn on December 28th, 2006

bird-stamps.jpgThis simple stamping technique can really create some neat backgrounds, especially if you apply an undercoat of paint in another color first. Apply a liberal layer of acrylic paint to your canvas. While it is still wet, stamp a small inked image into the paint. (You can use a contrasting ink color or simply use embossing ink. The ink helps keep paint from sticking to the image.) Blot paint from the image after making a few impressions. Continue until you are satisfied with the number of images on the background.

After your background is dry, you can use it as is or you can brush a bit of shimmery ink on the raised images or use rub ons to add some shimmer.
