Stamping with Children - Keeping Your Supplies and Your Children Safe
Children love rubber stamps. I’d need the security of Fort Knox to keep them out of my stamping closet. Since all of those padlocks and guards would make it hard for me to enjoy stamping, I decided to put together a child safe stamping kit, instead.
I filled a basket with mounted stamps of animals, silly cartoons and things that go. I added a few washable ink pads and a stack of prefolded cards. A glue stick, crayons, colored pencils, doilies and pieces of ribbon completed my kids’ stamping kit. (No buttons, tiny charms or permanent ink pads!)
Now, when the kids go to the rubber stamping closet, they know they can pull anything out of their basket and start creating. One last tip - every few weeks, I take out a few stamps and put in different ones, restock the papers and add a surprise treat to the basket. (Treats should be simple things that aren’t too messy, like fruit snacks.)
