Stamping with Children - Potato Prints Revisited
Sometimes, dusting off the oldest techniques can be a ton of fun, especially when the people you’re working with never used them. Kids really enjoy making potato prints and adults don’t have to worry about damage to their stamps.
I’m sure you remember the drill - cut a potato in half and carve away anything that you don’t want to appear on the paper. Keep designs simple. Hearts, x’s, and Christmas tree shapes are all pretty easy to carve. Wash away loose potato bits, dry the potato, ink it up and stamp.
This technique works great for homemade wrapping paper, rustic greeting cards, etc.
