Stamping with Gesso
We had fun playing around with watered down acrylics, liquid watercolors, gesso and the Magenta butterfly stamp today. This is my favorite piece. We painted a coat of watered down blue, let it dry and then painted a coat of watered down purple, which we also dried. Then, we inked the stamp with gesso and stamped it on the background. When it was dry, we painted a layer of liquid watercolor on some spots. We used a bunch of other stamps and colors to make some other canvases, too. Some of them will be backgrounds for mixed media pieces, but this one is so pretty it might just stay as is. (By the way, the we isn’t a royal we - my nephew painted some of his own works of art.)

Angela,
I love butterflies, too. This is one stamp that definitely was worth the money. I must have used it a thousand times over the past 10 years.
