This is another heirloom collage I put together. In this example, I have a letter from the late 1800’s that I didn’t want to affix permanently, so I created a pocket to hold it. I used a fern home decor stamp inked with gesso. After the gesso dried, I rubbed a brown ink pad over […]

I finally got the time to unpack boxes from last week’s class at Studio 432. (Just in time to repack for tomorrow’s Magnificent Monogram class. If your first or last initial is J or E, come on down. I ended up with two extra letters.) Thanks, Sailor is one of the samples I took in. […]

Isn’t it ironic that I’m not quite happy with a piece of art called Be Happy? Well, I’ve fiddled with it until I’m sick of it so I’ve decided it is done anyway. I used a foam flower stamp for the background and the words are a rub on. The image is one of those […]

This ATC was so simple to put together. I used a tree branch rubber stamp turned sideways to make a tree and a rub on that said Everlasting.

And I’m late again. I woke up this morning and realized that when I came up to use the scanner at midnight I never posted the image. Can’t we just fit a few more hours in the day? Anyway, here is another ATC sample for the class:
I used a foam daffodil stamp and brown chalk […]

I took such grainy photos yesterday that I decided to wait until this morning and take a clear one under natural light. Obviously, I haven’t figured out how to use that light box and supplemental lighting right yet!
Anyway, here is a nice, clear one. I am actually working on the word Nest, but the […]

Have you ever spent so long thinking that you ran out of time to actually create? Today’s piece is about just that. And, if you’re wondering where I got my inspiration…we went on a nature walk today and this little nut just looked like an owl head. For some reason, that made me think about […]

I had a few wood scraps and decided to recycle them into canvases for mixed media pieces. This is one of them. I gessoed it first and let it dry, then painted the background. The FLY stamp is one of those cheap foam stamps. The butterfly was painted with liquid watercolors and the crackle effect […]

Since someone requested it, here’s another of the purple Gothic arches from the challenge. It turns out that what I am doing with them is giving them to my niece, who loves fairies and purple, so that’s one project crossed off my list. All I had to do was put longer ribbon on them to […]

I’m pretty happy with the way this piece came out. I was playing around with packing tape transfers, which have experienced a new popularity since some VIPs in the art world discovered them and decided this older woman deserved a home. I also used another transfer-a bird image onto polymer clay.
By the way, I’m […]
