Technique Tuesday - Do it Yourself Window Clings
This is really an easy technique. Simply get a package of Avery’s printable static cling sheets from your local office supply store. Then, stamp images on one of the sheets. I used images without words or didn’t ink the words in when I inked the images.
To make the window clings, I tried my trusty Memories dye ink pad, but the stamped images didn’t dry. At first, I thought it wouldn’t work, but then I decided to try embossing the images. A few tips:
* Remove all of the loose powder. It really looks bad to have embossed specks on window clings.
* Use embossing powder that melts fast. Otherwise, you might melt the film.
* Don’t let the heat gun rest on one spot. Keep it moving and don’t get too close to the film or it will start to wrinkle.
I took a bunch of photos, but they all reflected my image and the camera back at me, so you can’t see how great they look from outside. The picture here is taken from inside the house and doesn’t look half as nice as the real thing when you’re outside looking in.
