Thursday Thought - Originality in Art
I found some really interesting quotes on originality in art. I’m starting with George Edward Moore - “It does not matter how badly you paint, just so long as you don’t paint badly like other people.”
I don’t know if I agree completely. I think you need some skill as a painter. There are things I’ve done that will never, ever see the light of day - canvases that have been gessoed over as soon as they dried. Perhaps a philosopher isn’t the right person to listen to when we are making art.
What do you think?
