Using Scraps - Scrap Pieces of Ribbon, Paper, Etc

by Nikki Katz on August 31st, 2005

I find that in making my own cards and scrapbook pages, I have a ton of scraps - you know what I’m talking about! Those pieces of paper and ribbon that are left over and can’t really do anything in their own right. I save them, just in case - but hardly ever end up using them. There’s something nice about just starting over with something fresh.

I think the best place to use them is when you’re making a ton of something - whether it be invitations, holiday cards, thank you cards, etc. Instead of getting bored doing the same thing - switch it up a bit. Use a variety of colors, or use those bits of leftover ribbon. They don’t have to all be the same, as they’re not going to the same households!

In this picture below, I used a variety of ribbons, brads, and even switched the placements of the stamped images in my daughter’s birthday invitations.
