What is an Angel Stamp?
When I first began using rubber stamps, I heard a lot of strange new terms. I remember wondering why everyone was making such a huge deal about only buying angel stamps. What about cow stamps or heart stamps?
I sure felt a bit silly when I found out they weren’t talking about the image on the stamp. An angel stamp is one where the company has a policy of allowing stampers to sell the artwork they make with the stamped image.
Each rubber stamp company has a slightly different angel policy. Some limit the number of items you can produce and sell with each stamp. Others require you to label anything you make with their images with their company name. For this reason, you should be sure to read a company’s angel policy before you buy any stamps that you’d like to use in art for resale.
